About Steve

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog.

My name is Steve Peacocke. I have spent a large part of my life as an IT consultant based in Wellington, New Zealand.

I have recently joined Prozone Sports as their software Program Manager and Agile Coach, a thoroughly enjoyable place to work with a team doing fabulous things for sports analytics.

I've worked as a programmer, project manager, business analyst, development manager, marketing manager, product manager, and an Agile Coach. I've had the pleasure to contract to many government departments, large corporations, and small operations over the years. I also wrote 'The Trader Series', a suite of applications that became New Zealand's largest selling small business accounting program as the sole architect and programmer.

A Certified ScrumMaster, I have had a wonderful time assisting businesses and teams to incorporate change, implement Agile mindsets and practices, and manage software projects.

I write several blogs, mainly to learn about things. I am a great believer in writing and often find that I can clarify my thoughts on a subject only once I have researched, and then written about it.

I enjoy my motorcycling and travel, love everything Chinese (including my wife), and am addicted to good coffee. Really good coffee can only be found in Melbourne Australia where, if you find the right places, can be served by an old Greek or Italian man who lives to see your face when you take that first sip of "his" coffee that he made especially for you. Squirting brown stuff into a cardboard cup and shoving it across the counter at you while screaming out "Next", does not make for a good coffee, but I'll sometimes drink it anyway.

I'd love to hear from you so please contact me through the contact form in the side bar. I'd especially love to hear from you if you want to add an article as a writer on this blog. This blog gets a large number of hits and can be very good for your career to write about something you know.
